Gems near homes in Studio City Part III

Its Tammy here to talk to you about one of my favorite things in the whole wide world. Sush!! Yes, Sushi. I loooove Sushi. And I bet many of you do as well. And believe it or not, one of THE absolute best areas for sushi is Studio City. Honestly, I think it is the best area for Sushi. Better than little tokyo or even beverly hills. If you drive down venture blvd. from Vineland to just past Coldwater Canyon, you will drive past at least 10 sushi bars. Yes! 10!! That is a not an exaggeration either. Studio City is jam packed with the best sushi bars in Los Angeles. There are 3 that I frequent the most and I will tell you what I like different about each one.
The first, and possibly the most famous one is Nozawa. Nozawa is actually the owner and the head sushi chef in the place. There is something there that makes a dinning experience unique there. That is, you can’t order what YOU want. You can only accept what he decides to give you. Period. If you don’t want to, you can leave. Simple is that. Luckily, he is very good and what he does and has been surprising visitors for years. I highly recommend Nozawa.
A second favorite of mine is Katsu-ya. This is place is wonderful. And yes, you can order what ever you heart desires. I was there 2 weeks ago and guess who I was sitting across from? The hilarious Kathy Griffen!! Yes sir indeed. I love her. She is so funny. And she obviously has good taste in sushi. My favorite rolls at Katsu-ya is the Robert Roll and the S.S.C. Roll. They are divine. Oh, now I’m getting hungry.
My 3rd favorite and the most recent discovery is Iroha Sushi of Tokyo. There are few things I like about this place. One, its kind of a hole in the wall. I would have never discovered it if it wasn’t for Yelp. It has a very nice casual and cozy atmosphere as well. Its full of charm. My favorite favorite dishes there are the grilled chicken jalapeño in ponzu sauce roll, the crunchy roll and even there house salad is amazing.
So there you have it darlings. My favorite places to eat when it comes to sushi. I hope you give them a try first before you experiment with the other 10+ sushi bars to choose from.
